This scene basically summarises that Macduff’s children have been killed. They are all in the castle when lady Macduff asks Ross if her husband has fled. Ross tells her to trust her husbands judgement before leaving. Lady Macduff tells her son that his father is dead but he doesn’t believe that he is. A messenger then comes is and tells her that she must flee too. She doesn’t think think that she should as she thinks that she has done no wrong. A group of murderers come in and stab the child for calling them liars. Lady macduff then runs with the murders classing her.
