In this scene at the beginning, the three witches are making a potion to offer to Macbeth. All of the ingredients are stereotypical object, animals and people that we would expect witches to put in potions. The potions are also rhymed like in act 3 scene 5 in a hypnosis like a sequence. I think that this is crucial to potions to highlight them from the play. In this scene, there were 3 apparitions. The first one an armoured head that’s the message was to be aware of Macduff. The second apparition a bloody child whos message was that he is immortal, and the third apparition was a crown child with a tree in its hand whos message was that Macbeth can’t be defeated until Birnam Wood marches to fight him.
