Act: 2 Scene:3

In scene 3 Macbeth tries as hard as he can to seem innocent of his crime by framing others for it. The guards are the ones who he has framed which also makes them evidence and they could also be used against them. He pretends that his love for the king has made him kill the guards. We learn this when he says:

“O, yet I do repent me of my fury,
That I did kill them.”
