Explore Shakespeare’s use of Language devices and dramatic effects and how they reveal the action of ambition on the characters Macbeth or Lady Macbeth.

Some ideas in the txt regarding ambition:

Too much ambition leads to the sacrifice of humanity, morals, friendships, loyalty, honour.

They lost their sanity, started getting hallucinations, lack of sleep, anger breakouts, paranoia.

Language devices:

-Symbolism: blood=guilt, dagger=evil intentions, stars=heaven/god/morals/fate.

-Metre: iambic pentametre is used for status, and broken to take status away, witches have a trochaic metre.

-Metaphors

-Supernatural phenomenons: Banquo’s ghost, apparitions, witches.

Pathetic fallacy: the unnatural events that followed king Duncan’s death.

Introduction: State your ideas and outline the structure of the essay about to come. Roadmap to the structure of the essay, set the context, capture the reader’s intention.

Paragraph 1: Metaphors and symbolism.

Paragraph 2: How lady Macbeth was the one t push Macbeth to commit the murders.

Paragraph 3: the guilt she had from her ambition.

Quotes: Unsex me here. Is a quote to show that lady Macbeth wanted to be stripped of her weakness because she is a woman. which in those days meant that you were weak because of your gender.

“A sorry sight” Is another one of Lady Macbeths quotes. She looks at Macbeth’s hands and says that they are a sorry sight as they were covered in King Duncan’s blood, whom he had just murdered. She thinks that the sight of all the blood is painful/distressing. This is then shown through her actions and words.
